Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated June 12, 2026

Purpose

This Acceptable Use Policy ('AUP') sets the rules for what you may and may not do with Echo. It is part of our Terms of Service. It exists to protect our users, the people whose voices and likenesses appear in uploaded content, and the integrity of the service.

You must own or have rights to what you upload

This is the core rule of Echo. You may only upload audio, video, or text that you own or for which you hold all rights, licenses, and permissions necessary to upload, process, and create derivative works from. This includes rights in the underlying recording, the music, the script, and the contributions of every speaker or performer who appears in it.

If you upload content created by or featuring someone else — a podcast guest, a client, a co-host — you are responsible for having their permission to process it and repurpose it.

Prohibited content

You may not upload or use Echo to process or generate content that is:

  • Infringing: content that violates the copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights of any person or entity.
  • Unlawful: content that violates any applicable law or regulation, or that facilitates illegal activity.
  • Hateful or harassing: content that promotes hatred, violence, or discrimination against people based on protected characteristics, or that harasses, threatens, or bullies any person.
  • Privacy-violating: content that exposes private information about a person without their consent, including recordings made without legally required consent.
  • Sexually exploitative: any sexual content involving minors, or non-consensual intimate content of any person.
  • Deceptive: content intended to impersonate a real person without authorization or to deliberately mislead, including fraudulent or scam content.

Third-party personal data

Do not upload content containing other people's personal data unless you have the authority or consent to do so. If your content includes interviews, calls, or meetings, make sure every participant has consented to being recorded and to the content being processed, in accordance with the laws that apply to you (some jurisdictions require all-party consent for recordings).

Prohibited conduct

In addition to content rules, you may not:

  • Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the service, or breach or circumvent its security or authentication measures, except through our coordinated disclosure process (security@1labs.ai).
  • Use the service to send spam or unsolicited bulk communications.
  • Resell, sublicense, or provide access to the service to third parties except as expressly permitted by your plan.
  • Use automated means to access the service in ways that exceed plan limits or place unreasonable load on our infrastructure.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the service or other users' use of it.

Enforcement

Echo may review reported content and may remove content, suspend processing, or suspend or terminate accounts that violate this AUP. For serious violations — including illegal content or risk of harm to others — we may act immediately and without prior notice. Where the violation is less severe and made in good faith, we will normally notify you and give you an opportunity to fix it.

We may also report unlawful content to law enforcement where we are required or permitted to do so.

Reporting violations and DMCA / IP complaints

If you believe content processed through Echo infringes your copyright or other intellectual property rights, or otherwise violates this AUP, contact us at legal@1labs.ai with: a description of the work or right at issue, the location or identification of the allegedly infringing material, your contact information, and a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorized.

We will review complaints promptly, remove or disable access to material where appropriate, and may terminate the accounts of repeat infringers.

Changes

We may update this AUP as the service and the legal landscape evolve. Material changes will be announced in the app or by email. Continued use of Echo after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
